Well, it goes without saying that you should discuss this with your rheumatologist. Nails are a huge headache for us. Many of us with PsA also have hypothyroidism, which itself will cause brittle nails. And hypothyroidism will exacerbate your PsA symptoms, as well as having unrelated symptoms itself. Have you had your thyroid functions checked as of late?

In addition to the information from Eric, , I wanted to share this article with you about PsA and the nails, https://psoriatic-arthritis.com/psa-symptoms/nails-changes-dystrophy. As Eric pointed out, as this sounds like a new symptom, I would really encourage you to reach out to your doctor as well. -- Warmly, Christine (Team Member)

I have found a biotin supplement very good. I actually have to cut my nails now because they are getting long rather than the usual trying to cut and file around the breaks in such a way that I don't end up removing half my finger too.

That's great, ! Sounds like the biotin supplement has really helped strengthen your nails. Was this something your doctor suggested or recommended? -- Warmly, Christine (Team Member)
