Does anyone else have a problem with severe skin itching ?

  1. I do ! It seems to move around to all different parts of my body. I find it to be especially bad when I've just gotten out of a hot shower or when I'm outside on a hot day. The best way I've been able to combat it is keeping my skin moisturized with Aquaphor or Cetaphil and drinking a TON of water. I believe it comes with the psoriasis territory and I'm so sorry you are experiencing this too, it can be very aggravating.

    1. Thanks Leanne, mine is in different areas also. The top of my feet , ankles and calves are reallly bad. I have now started to just get a cold washclothe or ice pack. Seems to help the most for me lately. When my hand itch i use cold also. good luck !

  2. palms of my ahnds itch so badly it wakes me up!! Try cool showers with super mild soap (ivory) and short as possible.

    1. Adrienne, mine do that also . and inbetween my fingers. If I am home I have to hold ice pack for a few min. Not long just till the nerves settle down. If I am at work I hold them under cold water. Hope that will help. It sure drives me crazy. Brenda

  3. Forgive my lengthy response.
Thank you for these suggestions. My diagnosis came September 2019 though I have been experiencing terrible skin flare ups and joint pain since 2017. I start Humira this Friday along with the methotrexate I am already taking. I know there is no cure for psoriatic arthritis at this time.
In 2017 I knew something was happening in my hands/fingers/wrists and feet/toes because I could/can actually feel my bones hardening. That is how I described it to my doctor and low and behold the xrays would show changes.
I finally got to a rheumatologist that looked at all the X-rays, MRIs and all other tests and attempted treatments between early 2017 and when I first saw her in September 2019.
She diagnosed me with psoriatic arthritis and inflammatory erosive osteoarthritis.
I am learning to live with these diagnoses and the challenges that come with them.
I am happy to have found this website and support along with it.
