Hello community! I am 44 and have struggled for at least 10 years with pain and joint issues. I have 2 finger joints fully eroded already. I finally received my PsA diagnosis this year which has been combined with my preexisting diagnosis of erosive osteoarthritis. I've been receiving injections into my neck and fingers for over a year. After going through several medications, I was just prescribed Humira. While I know medications work differently for everyone, I am curious to what the majority of people felt like while on Humira. I am also one of those that does not have psoriasis (I'm sure a contributing factor in the delay of diagnosis). I am very nervous about the suppression of my immune system since I live with all men/boys who could do better on their hygiene! My husband works in prison and brings all kinds of illnesses home, not to mention my kids bringing things from school. How can I best protect myself?? And at what point do you hold off on injection? What if I get sick right after taking the injection? I am also on leflunomide which I can stop right away, but still remains in my system anyway. The doctors aren't exactly comforting or have time to listen to my concerns. Thankful I found this community and hoping to connect to people I can talk to since no one around me fully understands the mental toll this is taking on me.
