New Diagnosis

PsA continues to be the gift that keeps on giving. I have just been diagnosed with Follicular Mucinosis. What the heck? It started with my arms itching like crazy and then a small rash started appearing. It spread all up my arms then to my chest. I had my primary look at it which she said it looked like it was in the hair follicles. This all started in November 24. I tried Benadryl which didn't work. I finally couldn't take it so called my dermatologist. They got me in quickly and did biopsies. After 4 biopsies, they have determined the diagnosis. I am currently putting Triamcinolone on the affected areas 2xday. I am supposed to start seeing my dermatologist every 3 months to monitor the condition. One possibility this could lead to is a type of lymphatic cancer. They say it is a small possibility but then, Follicular Mucinosis is rare.. Has anyone heard of this and/or have it?

  1. I forgot to put that the eash spread up my neck, chin and cheeks.

    1. Thanks so much for reaching out, . I personally had not heard of Follicular Mucinosis until your post, but I hope that any of our community members with experience or knowledge of this can chime in here and share with you. I see it's been several days since your post and I'm wondering if you've been noticing a difference or getting any relief with the Triamcinolone? Sending you gentle hugs. -- Warmly, Christine (Team Member)
