Is Fibromyalgia something we get with PSA?

I feel like I may have fibromyalgia causing my pain with PSA. I don't have a lot of joint pain but have lots of pain in my muscles and tendons. Is this something that is a part of PSA or do we get fibromyalgia symptoms too including being fatigued too much of the time.

  1. Hi , it definitely is possible to have both PsA and Fibromyalgia. While one does not necessarily cause the other (and not everyone with PsA will also develop Fibromyalgia), autoimmune conditions do seem to like to "collect" with each other. I'm sharing a link to an article one of our health leaders wrote about having both PsA and Fibro that you might be interested in, https://psoriatic-arthritis.com/living/symptoms-fibromyalgia. And this editorial article has more information about the difference between the two conditions, https://psoriatic-arthritis.com/clinical/fibro-difference. That being said, some people with PsA do also experience some of the symptoms you describe, so your best bet, might be to reach out to your doctor, if you haven't already, at least to determine whether or not the symptoms you're experiencing are PsA or due to another condition on top of the PsA. Please let us know if you have other questions. Wishing you a gentle day! -- Warmly, Christine (Team Member)
