Effects of high altitude (specifically flying) for those with PsA

Believe it or not I am 51 years old and I've never flown. When we travel by car to the mountains from our region of very flat land I have terrible flares. We want to take a vacation where we will have to fly. What has been your experience when flying?

  1. this is a good question! I hope others in the community will chime in with their experiences but in the meantime I thought I would share with you this article with some tips for flying https://psoriatic-arthritis.com/living/flying-with-psa. Sending thoughts your way! Warmly, Erin (team member)

  2. Thank you

  3. When I have to travel, my rheumatologist prescribes a kenalog steroid injection, in addition to my low dose daily steroid, to help control inflammation. It's not a perfect solution but it helps.
You might want to talk with your rheumatologist about how to stay comfortable while traveling.
I get pretty stiff while sitting in an airplane. Ankle circles and ankle pumps can help.
    Best of luck!
