Coping

5 years ago I was diagnosed with pa. I started with the oral medication that went to the biologic injections. I was on symoni infusions and now I'm on orencia infusions and nothing has worked. My skin joints organs fatigue you name it are suffering. I think my rheumatologist is at a loss. 😢

  1. I'm sorry to hear that your doctor has been struggling to find a treatment that will bring you relief, . Unfortunately, because everybody's body reacts differently to medication, it can take some time to find a treatment that brings each individual person relief. You're definitely not alone. It's understandable that you're feeling frustrated after trying both Symponi and Orencia. That being said, there are luckily many more treatment options available to try, so please don't give up! I'm including a link here with more information on treatment options, https://psoriatic-arthritis.com/treatment. And don't hesitate to advocate for yourself with your doctor. Sending you gentle hugs! -- Warmly, Christine (Team Member)

    1. Thanks so much. I'm about to give up on medicine. I'm changing my diet and have been researching holistic medicine. My infusion bills are overwhelming and patient assistance is not much.

      1. , that's great that you are seeking some complimentary and alternative therapies to help manage your PsA. I know we have other community members who have found relief making these types of adjustments as well. We do have some information about this here as well. This is a link to a couple of articles about managing symptoms without medications and alternative therapies, if you're interested https://psoriatic-arthritis.com/managing-symptoms-naturally. We also have several articles from people here who have found making dietary changes helpful as well. Leanne wrote about her experience here, https://psoriatic-arthritis.com/living/dietary-changes-part-2. Can I ask about the specific changes you're making to your diet? And if you have yet noticed a difference in your symptoms? -- Warmly, Christine (Team Member)
