Tips for managing scalp psoriasis

I’ve recently ( in the last 8 months developed scalp psoriasis and an itchy painful scalp.
I’ve trialled
Goats milk shampoo
Head and shoulder itchy scalp
Anti fungal shampoo
None of which helped long term
I inject Bimzelx every 28days
Consultant had added
Methotrexate by injection, I have yet to start this
Any suggestions on anything that has good effect, are welcome

  1. Hi Carole (), I'm so glad you've reached out. Scalp psoriasis can be particularly challenging, and I can see that you've already tried quite a few things for relief. Hopefully some of our community members here can also share what they've found helpful. In the meantime, we do have some information over on our sister site plaquepsoriasis.com where members have written about their tips and tricks for scalp psoriasis that I will link for you here. These two article might be a good place to starts, https://plaquepsoriasis.com/living/tips-scalp and https://plaquepsoriasis.com/living/scalp-management-tips. Are you also working with a doctor and/or dermatologist about the challenges of the scalp psoriasis? Please know this community is here for you. -- Warmly, Christine (Team Member)

    1. T-Gel, a coal tar shampoo, and T-Sal, a shampoo with 3% salicylic acid are both that have been used with varying degrees of success by many. You might also see if a dermatologist can prescribe you something stronger.

      1. Thank you
