Scraping your tounge

Has anyone experienced the need to scrape your tongue with a metal tongue scraper due to your tongue being coated with a white substance since being diagnosed with PsA? Is it just me? If so, please share your thoughts with me. Thanks in advance ☺️

  1. Sounds like thrush, a fungal infection that can happen to people taking certain medications, IL-17 and IL-23 inhibitors in particular. Your doctor can prescribe a mouth rinse for it.

    1. Hi , if you haven't already, I would reach out to your doctor. We are not medical professionals, however, as Eric mentioned, it sounds like it could be worth checking with your doctor as it sounds like it could be thrush. And, if it isn't, your doctor will be your best bet for getting answers, and treatment. We've had a couple community members mention developing thrush due to treatment. (One here, https://psoriatic-arthritis.com/stories/coming-to-terms and another here, https://psoriatic-arthritis.com/forums/cosentx-side-effects-please-help. They both just mention it, but I wanted to share with you just in case you were interested.) I do hope that your doctor can get you some relief. And, if you're comfortable, please let us know what you find out. Wishing you a gentle day. -- Warmly, Christine (Team Member)
