Remicade & Liver cysts

Good morning. Has anyone been on Remicade for PSA and also have liver cysts? I have Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver disease and some cysts that are not threatening. I don't want to use this drug if it will increase my changes of liver issues. I have researched and found only minimal info on the liver and Remicade. Thanks

  1. Hi @iwillsurvive, thanks for reaching out to our community. I really hope you hear back from our members with any personal experience with this. I am so glad you are being an advocate for yourself and doing a lot of research. Have you had a chance to ask your doctor about this, I would be curious to hear what they have to say. I really hope you get some answers and relief. Jill, Team Member

    1. Thanks, i see her on the 23rd for more discussion on the Remicade. Have a great day. I often refer to this PSA page and really enjoy it!

      1. How did you do on the Remicade for only six months? thanks

      2. I done fine taking the Remicade. No side effects. Had to stop because it wasn't making a huge difference on my Psoriasis side of it.

    2. Hi , I am taking methotrexate and it wasn't doing anything. instead of increase the dose, due to my fatter liver, my dr. recommended Remicade with methotrexate. so I believe remicade injection would be easier on your liver. we will see how this remicade work out, waiting for insurance to ok. from reading on the internet, people saying they get cancer taking remicade and methotrexate for years...so I am kind of bum out....facing pain and can't do anything or getting cancer down the line.

      1. Hey 2020, thanks for the reply. I too have taken Methotrexate and all I got was extreme fatigue so that is not on my list of meds to consider. I am leaning toward doing the Remicade. My insurance has approved. Hoping your insurance approves if that is the route you decide to take. The research I have read is favorable for Remicade, with the number of adverse effects in the lower end of percentages. do take care, hoping you have a beautiful blessed day that's free of pain.
