Hi everyone, I’m Ashleigh (31). I’ve just joined today. I got diagnosed with PsA in March this year after bloods and MRI. I’ve also been diagnosed with axial spondyloarthritis & lupus.

Currently injecting methotrexate and going into biologics also for my spine. Hoping by being on this page it will help a bit knowing I’m not the only one going through all this.

Thank you so much for replying . I’ve been on methotrexate from June. I started off on the tablets (which where horrific) and couldn’t cope with them as I’ve two kids and they made me feel really sick, so went into injections instead and so far no side effects but also no improvement in my condition. Thanks for sharing the link I will have a look at it 😃

 Hi @Am90, it is so hard when the side effects are terrible. I am glad the injections are not giving you a problem. Many of our community members say it takes three months or so, to see a benefit. It sounds like you are right about at this timing. I really hope you start to see relief. When is your follow up appointment with your doctor? Jill, Team Member

Yeah it was rough I couldn’t keep up to that on top of all the pain . Hopefully they start to work soon I’m starting to loose hope. I’ve an urgent appointment with my rheumatologist this month waiting to hear when it is , so I can get on the biologics as well to manage this pain

 Hi <inline-mention username="Am90" user-id="4124741"/>. Please don't lose hope even if methotrexate doesn't help. Methotrexate is the first medication doctors try, in part , because it is less expensive than many other PsA treatments, but also because many insurance companies require that you try it first. There are so many medications available for PsA. Hopefully, your doctor will be able to start you on a biologic soon and you will feel some relief, but you might have to hang in there another month or two before you doctor is ready to move on from methotrexate. Hi lori. Yeah I’ve heard they try methotrexate first as it is so cheap in comparison to other medicines. Hopefully it starts to work soon 🤞 I read the link you sent me I seen people suffer with bad skin on Mtx, my skin has been terrible with spots it’s driving me insane . Thanks for replying
