Where is all of this coming from?

Hey y’all, I’m new here and looking to enjoy my journey with y’all. I’ll start by sharing a bit about myself.

I’m 58, single, and full of life (mentally)! I have two young men who serve in the Army, two gorgeous daughters, and 13 beautifully spoiled grandchildren!

HLA B27 marker test

About 7 months ago I started having trouble with my eyes, seemed I was losing sight in the left eye. After several rounds of steroid drops, more tests were run and the last one showed I am HLA B27 positive. This ran into meeting new doctors, more tests, and realizing that my fatigue, pain, and slothful ways that I’ve adopted over the past two years isn’t the real me. I’ve been battling this unknowingly for quite some time.

Symptoms of autoimmune disease

Autoimmune has shown itself with many faces.

  • Fatigue
  • Psoriatic Arthritis
  • Very low vitamin D
  • Unusual Emotional outbreaks
  • Severe Pain
  • The list continues to grow

Pain relief with psoriatic arthritis

I have been put on 50,000 units of Vitamin D, Methotrexate and steroids.

Just recently I was put on something for pain. Thank the Lord, I’ve started feeling somewhat better, but I’m definitely not out of the woods just yet. I’m grateful that I have the best Arthritis Dr! The most difficult part of all of this is the fact none of my family is close by. I struggle daily with this.

Complications and comorbidities

Some other illnesses I battle are Type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, and I wear a cochlear implant for hearing needs. On September 18th I’ll be having a redo of bunionectomy surgery, and having pins put in all my toes on the left foot. When things heal, I’ll be having artificial ankle surgery on the same foot. I’m grateful that I have great faith in my Heavenly Father and His healing touch.

Ways I stay positive with psoriatic arthritis

Enough bad! I’m a loving person and very giving to those around me. I’m in a fairly new community so I’m trying to build a network of friends here, but I don’t seem to fit in. This is stressful for me also. I am disabled, so I have to occupy myself with positive things and people. I have grown to love doing crafts, DIYs, and I’ve always been a creative cook. Check out my Facebook page DIY everything. I also enjoy journaling. I feel it’s important to my thoughts on paper, it definitely lifts my spirits when I write.

I am looking forward to joining my journey with yours and would love to connect as a friend.

God Bless y’all and may this journey become easier for you and me.
