When Is It Time To Have "The Talk" With Your Doctor?

I think we should schedule that visit when we are not improving after a certain amount of time has passed.

Are you having regular flare-ups and just not feeling like yourself? I know that when I didn't have the energy to get out of bed, it was time. There are times that our medication just doesn't work, let your doctor know that.

We need to learn how to talk to our doctors so that we can get better care. Have you ever had these conversations with your doctor? We need a treatment plan that works.

We would love to hear your thoughts on this.

  1. Yes when my quality life has deteriorated significantly.

    1. severe flare, mostly fatigue. Appt with Dr next week

    2. oh dear! I'm so sorry to hear you're in such a severe flare. I hope that next week comes quickly for you and your doctor can help you get some relief. Please, if you're comfortable, keep us posted. And know that we are here for you. Sending you gentle hugs. -- Warmly, Christine (Team Member)

  2. When pain becomes to unbearable

    1. I hope things have been okay lately. Do you have a plan when this happens? Wishing you the relief you deserve. -Erin (Team member)

  3. We discuss it at every appointment but the Dotor would like to wait until all the test results are in.

    1. I suppose it's understandable that your doctor wants to wait until all results are in, although I imagine it might be challenging to have to wait. Are you currently diagnosed with PsA? Are you currently waiting on tests for something else? In the meantime, are you able to manage some of your symptoms? -- Warmly, Christine (Team Member)

  4. Diagnosed with PsA in January 2024. They are looking at the nervous system now because I have been feeling off balance, falling, dizzy, get shocks in right leg, cramps in both of my feet and legs and the headaches in the back of my head are bad. Vitamin D and Sodium are low

    1. , good thing they are looking into and testing for things now. Those symptoms sound troubling and challenging! I hope they can get you some answers quickly and that you can find a treatment you're comfortable with that brings you some relief from these symptoms. Are they recommending Vitamin D and Sodium supplements for you? -- Warmly, Christine (Team Member)
