Pregnancy and PsA

Hi All,

I was diagnosed with PSA last year at the age of 38. My PSA came suddenly and kind of severe. I was lucky that it got diagnosed quickly and I was put on MTX straight away. Currently, I am on 21 mg of MTX but I feel better. Some stiffness but rest all fine. I am a full-time working mum of an 8-year-old. I am 39 years old, soon to be hitting 40 in a few months.

Pregnancy planning with psa
Before my PSA diagnosis last year, I was planning for a second child but now this looks impossible. Will this be a good idea to think about having a second child considering my age and PSA?

I want to know the opinions of those who have been through a similar situation as mine.

Thanks, Prats

  1. Hi Prats, Thanks for your question. We can't give out medical advice over the internet for your safety and your doctors will be the best people with whom to discuss this. I did want to share a few resources we have on PsA and pregnancy: https://psoriatic-arthritis.com/psa-basics/pregnancy-risk-complications/. I know there are some moms in our community who have gone through pregnancy with PsA and I hope they'll chime in with their experiences.
