Vertigo and PsA

Have you ever experienced vertigo alongside your PsA? How were you able to manage it?

  1. Yes. Medication

    1. thanks for sharing! Can I ask what medication helped manage your vertigo? -- Warmly, Christine (Team Member)

    2. nothing

  2. Yes but didn't realize it was related

    1. , it can be related in some cases, but not always. Will you get a chance to ask your doctor about this potential link at some point? We have a couple of articles on PsA and vertigo that might be of interest. The first is a more clinical view: https://psoriatic-arthritis.com/clinical/having-vertigo and in the second, Elizabeth talks about her personal experiences with PsA and vertigo: https://psoriatic-arthritis.com/living/vertigo I hope these are helpful! I'm sorry you have to deal with vertigo. It sounds really awful. How often would you say you experience it? Warmly, -Catherine, Community Moderator

  3. Thankfully not often but can last a day or over a week. I also deal with daily migraines if I miss a dose of that medication. I really believe this is related also. I've dealt with the migraines for 30 years.

    1. , oh goodness, that must be awful when it lasts over a week! Having vertigo or dizziness for even a short length of time can be extremely debilitating. It's interesting that you mention migraines as we have a great forum discussion where quite a few people have shared their experiences with PsA and migraines: https://psoriatic-arthritis.com/forums/migraines-and-head-pressure Warmly, -Catherine, Community Moderator

  4. Yes i have , my GP prescribed Cinnarzine which helps when i have 'a turn 'Dizzy , sickness and motion sickness

    1. oh that's great! I'm so glad your doctor has been able to give you something that helps when you're having one of those Dizzy turns or motion sickness. Is it something you only take as needed or it is a one-a-day thing that helps keep the vertigo at bay? Thanks so much for sharing with the community here. -- Warmly, Christine (Team Member)
