Does anyone else experience migraines or painful head pressure?

Hi! I am asking this question for a community member, who writes:

"I have PsA and most of what affects me are what seem like neurological issues or what they are calling “migraines,” but they are SO debilitating at times. Feels like tons of pressure in my head or the joints in my head. Is anyone else experiencing something similar to this? I am hesitant to ask because I know the joints and pain are what mostly affect people with PsA, but that just hasn’t been my experience. I am currently on a biologic and steroids to help get me out of my flare."

Has anyone experienced anything similar? Please share your experiences with this community member!

  1. I hope others will chime in to share their experiences! I did want to share that we have a sister community, Migraine.com, that might be helpful for you to explore. I'm not sure where exactly on your head the pressure/pain is, but some threads that might be of interest on Migraine, include: https://migraine.com/forums/weird-temple-forehead-pressure & https://migraine.com/stories/constant-painpressure-behind-eyes. 1. Yes, I have migraines and often just pains in my head. I take imitrex for the migraines.

      1. I hear you, . Doe imitrex help your migraines? - Abigail, Team Member

    2. I have had the pressure feeling in my head and arms feels like I’m hanging upside down

      1. Yes. My migraines are caused by the arthritis in my neck bones that are closest to the head. That causes spasming which my neurologist says pulls the scalp tight triggering migraines. Before biologics every 2 weeks and Botox shots every 12, I had daily migraines - waking up with one, having it all day and then trying to fall asleep with one.

Using a vibrating, heated neck massager from sharper image and generic imitrex (if I catch it early enough), also help a

Best of luck to you anonymous!

        1. : several years, but it took me more than a year of daily migraines to figure it out. Now I do yoga, get Botox (which seems to help my neck pain/spasming in the joints at the base of my skull) and have imitrx for when one breaks through.

It is now more like 3-4 per month, stead of every day - so a tremendous improvement.

        2. That's wonderful, ! I'm so glad that you've been able to find things that help and be able to have so much relief💗 I hope you keep continuing to improve and get to a point to where you hardly have any migraines💕 Wishing you a peaceful week✨ - Abigail, Team Member
