Is tiredness part of PsA?

My Dr. tells me each time I go that I my blood work, skin and everything is good. However, I am so tired all the time. I wake up tired, at the end of the day I can hardly move I am so tired. I do have osteoathritis in both knees and issues in my back. I really feel that the tiredness is part of the PsA. Is this true?

  1. Hi Showers17!

It sounds like your having a really rough time with the tiredness 🙁 Fatigue can be a symptom of PsA, and we have many, many community members who experience this. We have some information on fatigue, which I thought may be of interest: https://psoriatic-arthritis.com/psa-symptoms/fatigue/

Of course, it can be a symptom of something else too - has your doctor run additional tests to rule out other causes?

    1. Thank you so much for the information. There is a lot of things that I am going to try and hopefully it will help. I also think it might be time for me and my doctor to have a little heart to heart about how fatigue is affecting me.

In answer to your question about running additional test, no. Again, I think this may be the next step to finding out what is going on with me. I am so tired and have NO energy. This is no way to live and I am really tried of it.

      Thank you again.

      1. I’m having a bad time too I’m so tired I want to cry. The pain is ughy too! Diagnosed in 2015 it has never been this bad! Doc went up on humira but chose not to do labs. I wonder sometimes if they no how tired you are. It is taking longer to get up after laying or sitting. And the overall pain in legs is crazy. And everybody knows what’s going on, just get sleep or it’s this or that. And my sweet hubby after telling him how bad I feel, then “ oh are you going to church”? I say no and he asks “why”? I want to go but I do good to tak a shower! Thanks for listening!!!

        1. Ugh so sorry you're having such a bad time, 🙁 I often wonder this about fatigue and doctors too - my personal feeling is that unless someone has experienced it, they can't really have any idea of what it's like or how severe it can be. I think we have all had a conversation similar to the one you had with your hubby!! It is difficult when others don't really get it.
