Hi , I'm so glad that you've found our community here. First of all, I just want to say, you certainly aren't alone in having the fears and worries of your psoriasis and PsA impacting relationships, and those feelings that you're having are valid. Living with a chronic condition is not only physically challenging but also mentally and emotionally so. Unfortunately, the mental and emotional impact of living with a chronic condition can often be overlooked, yet it is also really valuable and important to address. If you haven't already, I would really encourage you to reach out to your doctor or other health professional to discuss how you've been feeling both mentally and emotionally. I'm also linking an article from our health advocate, Clair, about mental health and PsA, https://psoriatic-arthritis.com/living/mental-health-stigma and this one from our advocate, Joel, https://psoriatic-arthritis.com/living/mental-health-management. That being said, living with psoriasis and PsA, or any chronic health condition, does not mean you cannot also have a meaningful romantic relationship. One of our advocates wrote a nice article about PsA and relationships that you might also be interested in, https://psoriatic-arthritis.com/living/communicating-with-friends-family-partners. There is also this one with tips on sharing about PsA with someone you're dating, https://psoriatic-arthritis.com/living/dating-relationships. Hopefully some of this information can be helpful, and reassure you that you are not alone. So many people understand what you're feeling and we are here for you. Sending you gentle hugs. -- Warmly, Christine (Team Member)
