What is the best thing to do for intense pain ? Shots Humira or what?

Having severe pain in my feet and hands. Stand on my feet at work 8 hrs a day 40 hrs week. Been having severe pain in feet and hands. Taking Tylenol arthritis 8 hour just takes the edge off.

  1. Hi . I wish you were not in so much pain. PsA is a strange disease. There are lots of medications to treat it, but medications that help one person might not necessarily help another. Doctors have no way of knowing which medications will be effective for particular patients. It's all a matter of trial and error. If you do find the right medication though, it can be life-changing. Have you tried anything at all besides Tylenol? I hope you get some good input from others in the community. In the meantime, here is an article the discusses the various categories of medications: https://psoriatic-arthritis.com/medications. I think it might interest you. 1. Thank you Eric for the recommendations. Right now I wear Sketchers .they were working well for me.dont really want to do the Prednisone cause it causes you to gain weight. Accommodations for my job are hard to to get have to go through corporate.I go back to rheumatologist in Jan.

      1. Tailored orthotics, comfortable shoes, compression gloves, wrist splints and resting joints whenever you can.
I see a podiatrist monthly for callus and corn, hammertoe, pso nail maintenance, it is costly but worth it cos I can walk again afterwards for a few weeks.
I would also highly recommend paraffin wax baths for hands and feet.
I have asked my wood crafty husband to make a very chunky smooth and rounded handle

DO NOT wear rings, in my recent experience it just leads to more pain and can provoke nasty swelling for me. I'm getting a nice gold necklace for the rings I can't be without.

        1. Those are some wonderful suggestions, . I wore my rings on a necklace during each of my pregnancies because my fingers swelled so badly. I loved knowing that they were close to my heart. Thanks for sharing! - Lori (Team Member)
