In Search of: GLOVES!

Hey all,
I'm a Nebraska girl who lives in Colorado for college, so it's safe to say I'm pretty use to the cold. However, in the past year, the arthritis in my fingers has gotten quite a bit worse, and my gloves are not cutting it. We got our first snow yesterday - it hasn't stopped since - and they're predicting a harsh winter. Please please please send your glove/mitten/anything recommendation to help my hands! I'm writing and typing lots of papers for school, so I'd love to have functional fingers 😀
Thanks everyone!

  1. Are you asking about winter gloves, or gloves specifically to help with joint support? Bionic makes a line of fitness gloves that are really good at providing additional support around the finger joints. I used to wear them when lifting weights, which I no longer do. As for winter gloves, you're going to want a good fleece liner glove worn under a good mitten for really cold days. There are any number of brands, and types, out there. And being in Colorado, I would imagine you shouldn't have any problem finding an outdoor outfitter or sporting goods store that handles such things.

    1. I was looking specifically for winter gloves/mittens but this was very helpful! Thanks!

    2. , you could try those little hand warmer packs. Put one in each glove or mitten when you're out. I have used them and they work really well. My hands are always cold so I have considered wearing mittens in the house with a hand warmer inside 😀

  2. Oh I hope you can get some helpful feedback, , about good winter gloves. I live in Minnesota, so I understand the cold (and needing warm hands/fingers). Several of my friends here swear by Choppers, although I've never tried them myself so I can't confirm their warmth personally. Also, when I did a quick google search they are available in a lot of different stores so the quality might depend on who makes them. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful, but I do hope that you find the magic glove/mitten! -- Warmly, Christine (Team Member)

    1. For compression gloves, I 100% recommend Grace and Able gloves. They are so soft and give my hands a gentle hug. They also keep inflammation down and help with pain. I don't know about winter gloves, though.

      1. I wear Copper Fit gloves for added gentle compression support, the healing properties of copper, and their second skin like size, UNDER heavier weight gloves like snow gloves or gardening gloves. Two layers on the hands just like multiple layers on the rest of the body just makes sense. This has kept my palmar psoriasis from re-emergence, keeps my hands soft, and gives me better grip strength. They are quite thin and fit easily under my bulkier weight gloves.
