How do I get motivated

It’s very difficult to get motivated especially with two types of Arthritis. It feels like I’m being pulled in two directions.
It’s nice though to feel the sun on my face when we finally get the sun come out.

  1. Hi , thank you for sharing with us all. I'm sure dealing with two types of arthritis makes everything very challenging. Do you mind me asking which types of arthritis you have? Struggling to find motivation is something that I think a lot of us here can relate to. If you're interested, there's a great forum discussion where community members have shared how they get motivated: https://psoriatic-arthritis.com/forums/motivation Hoping the sun is shining for you today! ☀️ -Catherine, Community Moderator

    1. Hi, Yes I was aware of this but I understand that it is quite rare just to have the PsA without the skin condition.
My mum had the skin condition but no Psa as did her mum and a few of her siblings so I consider myself quite lucky not to have the skin condition.

    2. , thank you for sharing. It must have been so hard to cope with the osteoarthritis starting up at such a young age. I'm sure it is extremely tiring when both the osteo and the PsA are flaring at the same time. Are you trying any treatments at the moment?

That's interesting about your family history. My paternal grandad had psoriasis, and I have both psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis (I'm the only one in the family with the arthritis so far). I believe around 10-15% of people with PsA experience the arthritis alone or before any skin symptoms appear. So whilst it is much less common, you're definitely not alone in this! 2. Hi, yes I have Osteo Arthritis which I have had since I was 11 years old. Then diagnosed with Psoriatic arthritis in 2021. Sometimes when you have flare ups of both at the same time it becomes quite tiring. It seems that Osteo Arthritis comes from my grandparents on my dads side and the psoriatic arthritis comes from my mum who has Psoriasis although I don’t have the skin condition, I have the psoriatic arthritis instead.
