First, I do my usual 'Oh no!' This sentiment is followed by a few moments of pure feeling: panic or frustration, usually, but then my pragmatic self kicks in. I mention this because I need just a few minutes to grieve a bit because my day's great plans have been tossed. I am goal driven & look forward to my daily goals so that by the day's end, I can have a sense of accomplishment. Then, I know that I've acknowledged the need for adjustment & I can think of something else to inspire me because that's what we are really discussing-redirection by inspiration or challenge or whatever. And I agree with those who have responded, getting into nature is wonderful. Although I can no longer go for walks, I love getting outside & with a good bit of help, growing things. Also, I have four legged family who can always entertain or show me their needs. Then there are my hobbies-sewing, tailoring, reading, writing. Pretty soon, I have reconstructed my lost day into a day of vast opportunity.
