How Can You Tell The Difference Between Psoriatic Arthritis and Fibromyalgia?
Diane T
I have both of these and some days I don't know which one is flaring up. How do you know the difference? We would like to hear from you. Diane (Team Member)
I can tell my fibromialga is flaring because even a touch on my skin will hurt !

, that is so true. This is how I was diagnosed with it. But right now, my PsA is overpowering my body. I feel like everything hurts. I'm seeing a rheumatologist soon. Do you take separate medications for both illnesses? Thanks for sharing. Diane (Team Member)

I take a muscle relaxer for fibro and take pain medications for PSA !

, thanks for sharing. My doctor had me on Lyrica for the fibro and on a biologic for PsA. Trust me, I didn't feel any pain, but the side effects were not good.
Are the medications you are taking helping you? Diane (Team Member)

Sometimes the meds work just to make me a little more comfortable ! But I've gone through all the shots and they stop working so now I have a chest port and get Remicade infusions that works the best for my PSA! I was just diagnosed with fibromialga after I fell down a escalator at the airport ! I only take the muscle relaxers at night so I can sleep more comfortably! I guess there isn't much medication for it I can take! I just have to live with it ! I make sure I rest and I have had to stop doing some activities I used to do !

Oh no!!! I'm so sorry you fell. That had to be so uncomfortable. I have been on 8 biologics and you are right, they fail after a while. I have been on Skyrizi for a year now. It does good for my psoriasis, but not the psoriatic arthritis.
When you say you have to live with it. I understand. I am 66 and in pain every single day. People don't have a clue what we deal with. This is why I'm so thankful for communities like this where you can talk to others who understand.
Thanks for being a part of this community and get plenty of rest. We are here if you ever need to chat. Diane (Team Member)

you said you have a port. Did they put in the port to do the Remicade infusion? I had Remicade infusions but didn't have to have a port put in for it, so I am just curious. Vickie, Team Member
