Has anyone been successful with obtaining disability

As far as the jobs go, our advocate, Diane put together an article about possible jobs to do at home (as being able to be home might be easier on PsA), https://psoriatic-arthritis.com/living/work-from-home. Also, this article has some helpful tips, https://psoriatic-arthritis.com/living/career-advice-young-adults, the title say for "young adults" but I would argue that these can be helpful whether someone is just starting out in the workforce or not.

I have SS 100% disability and my wife also had me enrolled in a disability insurance policy luckily enough. When I applied for SS I found out that if your Dr is willing to fill out the forms PsA can be considered a100% type of disability.

Hello , Way, way back in the day, I had severe psoriasis over 80% of my body. There was no treatment the doctors could put together to help me. Long story short. I got approved for disability, but I turned it down. This was just not the road I wanted to travel. I worked for the US Senate back in the day. They were willing and able to accommodate me by remodeling my office so that I was comfortable and able to do my job.

I would think that any job lifting, standing, or bending for long periods of time would be hard on us with PsA. Were you able to get on disability? Thanks for the great question. We would like to hear more from you. Diane (Team Member)
