Has anybody used low-dose naltrexone LDN

I want to try low-dose naltrexone before I succumb to having to resort to immune suppressing drugs such as methotrexate. Does anybody have any experience with LDN

  1. Low dose naltrexone may be effective in pain management (or not), but DMARDs like Methotrexate actually reduce immune system signaling that causes the widespread inflammation that is the primary source of your pain. If you use opioids to reduce pain, you’re still not addressing the joint destruction being caused by the disease. The inflammation caused by PsA also affects multiple systems in your body, even without causing pain. Ultimately, the decision lies entirely with you, as it is your body and your disease. But I would recommend against anything that does not actually address the inflammation.

  2. Go to a Google search and type in the search bar "does low-dose naltrexone reduce inflammation" and my question was does anybody have any experience using LDN

  3. Hi , thanks for starting the conversation here. I know we do have a couple of community members who have mention LDN, so I hope they can connect with you. In the meantime, here's a link to a forum discussion about LDN with some feedback from community members, https://psoriatic-arthritis.com/forums/low-dose-naltrexone-1. And this comment from a community member about her experiences with LDN, https://psoriatic-arthritis.com/forums/for-the-pain-try-this-one. I hope that helps! And, if you're comfortable sharing, I would be curious how you end up finding it to be, if you end up deciding to try it. Wishing you a gentle day. -- Warmly, Christine (Team Member)
