Issues with Vision & Eyes Watering

My eye vision has declined and also sometimes they just start tearing up.

Anyone else have this problem?

  1. Hi . Have you talked with your eye doctor about your symptoms? Unfortunately, Vision problems are not uncommon with PsA. Here is an article that might interest you: https://psoriatic-arthritis.com/eye-problems-uveitis-risk/.
Dry eye is also common in women as we age. With dry eye, the eyes can sometimes water too much in an effort to make up for the lack of oil from clogged oil glands. Warm compresses for five minutes at a time can help tremendously.
I hope you get more answers and some relief soon.

    1. I have went to my eye Dr. recently and he didn't seem to concerned about it. He said it was just dry eyes. I use drops but it's not helping. I can't even wear eye make up. Thinking about getting a second opinion. Thank you for your response.

      1. After the Ophthalmologist said I had dry eyes I looked it up and to me it sounded rather serious. Then I went to a retina specialist for a hole in the macula and he gave me a sample of eye drops. Made my eyes hurt for 3 days. So then I got on line and came up with hyaluronic eyedrops and ordered those. I haven't been back for a follow up.

    2. My eyes water excessively, or burn from dryness. I thought I had allergies until reading about vision issues with PSA.

      1. I have dry eyes and that’s what causes the excessive watering so what I did was I got college and plugs put in my eyes and that worked for a while and now I actually get Botox in my eyes somewhere so that it slows down the tear duct so they don’t water that’s the only thing I found that works and my insurance actually covers it but it’s just for I don’t think they put it in the tear duct but the eye doctor puts it inside my eye it doesn’t hurt at all you don’t even feel it because they numb your eye but it’s the only thing that works

        1. Wow I have heard of botox for the treatment of migraines but never to treat dry eyes. Glad it is working for you. How long have you been having it done? Vickie W., Community Moderator
