Does PsA make bunions worse?

Hi all! I'm posting on behalf of another community member who has the following question about PsA and bunions:

"Bunions: are they caused by PsA or just complicate them?? My sister has bunions but not PsA, I have a bunion AND PsA. I ask her all the time if hers is painful because her foot looks worse than mine but she rarely has pain. Mine HURTS badly alllll the time. So does PsA make bunions worse? Thank you!!"

Please share any experiences you may have in the comments below. Thanks, everyone!

  1. Hello , I just wanted to chime in. I never had bunions, but I would complain to my doctor years ago about pain on the bottom of my feet. Eventually, the pain just went away. This is a good topic. I hope more people chime in.

    1. Pain and stiffness in base joint of both big toes is a chronic problem for me. I’m not sure if the bone-like knob on each spot is a bunion. They get very swollen when I lay around in bed, but improve when I walk around. I also use Diclofenac cream and the essential oil, frankincense.

      1. Have you managed to see a podiatrist about the possible bunion? Do you use the frankincense clean on your feet, and how often do you use it? It is one of my favorite smells. - Clair ( Team Member)
