Does it cause sleep disturbances, (ie) bad nightmares?

  1. , May I clarify, are you asking if psoriatic arthritis causes nightmares?

It has not caused nightmares for me, however, some of the medication I have used in the past, for pain, etc, has affected me in this way. Personally, my psoriatic arthritis keeps me awake due to pain levels., that is for sure. I am sharing an article with you about this: https://psoriatic-arthritis.com/living/mattress-sleep.

    1. Hi I have never experienced bad nightmares because of psoriatic arthritis. Sleep disturbances is definitely a thing especially when the pain kicks in. I have had an experience with medicine in which I was hallucinating but it was not medicine to treat psoriatic arthritis. Are you on a current treatment? Vickie, Team Member

      1. @yes I'm taking PM's but I have been on them for over two years.

        1. If you mean you are taking Tylenol PM, which contains Diphenhydramine (Benadryl), then that is likely your source of nightmares. Benadryl, and other first gen antihistamines, can cause vivid dreams and even nightmares.

      2. No, I have them with or without taking Tylenol pm. I meant pain meds when I used PMs
