Do you have low ferritin or anemia levels?

This is something I have had to deal with for years. No one ever told me why, just gave me more medications. Has anyone had to deal with this? If so, do you have a natural way to take care of this or does your doctor give you medication?

We would like to hear from you. Diane (Team Member)

  1. I've always had borderline low RBC counts, but my doctors have all assured me that what constitutes the "normal range" isn't necessarily normal or everyone. Hence, what may be low for one person may not be for another. But I've never been anemic, nor had symptoms of a low red cell count.

    1. Hello , thanks for sharing. You are so right, we are all different. Thanks for being a great part of this community. Diane (Team Member)

  2. Hello , Thanks for chiming in. My numbers have always been borderline for as long as I can remember. You are so right, what might be low for one person may not be the same for another. Thanks for sharing with us. Diane (Team Member)

    1. I've had low red and white blood counts for a while. My rhuem never even mentions it and I forget to ask at my next appointment.

      1. that's interesting that your rheumatologist never even mentions your low blood cell count. Are you on a medication/treatment? (Sometimes there are medication side effects that can impact blood cell counts, although I'm not saying this is the case for you.) There is the option to write yourself a list of questions to bring to your next doctor appointment, or, if you have an online messaging portal, reach out to your doctor in between appointments about your blood test results and that way you don't have to remember to ask at your next appointment. I do hope that you can get some answers! -- Warmly, Christine (Team Member)

      2. Hello , As mention, make a list of questions for your medical team. They hate to see me coming. There is so much the medical world doesn't tell us because we don't ask. How are you doing overall? We would like to hear from you. Diane (Team Member)

    2. I have low rbc low blood pressure and borderline salt levels. I take meds to keep my blood pressure up and I am supposed to eat more salty foods, my anemia numbers are just closely monitored.

      1. thanks for joining the conversation and sharing your experience here. Do you find it hard to keep your blood pressure up, or do the meds do a fairly decent job of that for you? And does that also help with the low rbc? I'm not entirely sure how it all works, but if you have low rbc does that also mean your iron is low? Thanks again for sharing here! -- Warmly, Christine (Team Member)
