Do you have a family history of PsA?

We know that having a family history of PsA increases the risk of also developing PsA. Does anyone have a family history of psoriatic arthritis? Do you think it made the process to be diagnosed easier? Is it nice to have another person you know going through something similar for support?

Or on the flip side, do you think not having a family history (or not knowing your family's medical history) has hindered your ability to get diagnosed?

I'm curious to hear about your experiences!

  1. Hi, Iā€™m new to the community and I have recently been diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis. My mother also has the condition.

    1. Hi @SaraLouise71. Those are some fast results with Apremilast . I hope it brings you pain relief soon. It can take up to four months for PsA medications to become fully effective. I hope your mom gets an appointment soon and finds some relief. Thinking of you both! - Lori (Team Member)
