Coping with work

Hi I've recently been diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis and fibromyalgia, took a year of constantly at Drs and hosp until I collapsed and thought my body was shutting down. My poor wee finger nails n toenails are all coming away and pain n fatigue so bad, I'm just glad of diagnosis as they kept saying it was my endometriosis getting worse. So glad I've found this page and hearing of people with same symptoms or learning of new ones. I've been off work 6 months, have appt on wed 25 with occupational therapy to see if I'm up to goin back my job as home career. How do other people cope with work?

  1. Hi FionaF64,

I hope others in the community will share their experiences on how they cope with work and please also feel free to ask in our Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/PsoriaticArthritisDotCom/) as another community resource. But I cant go into work anymore the pain is unreal but I don't know who to talk to I am phoning in sick and work are getting fed up and so am I. my Dr's give me my meds and that's it I cant afford not to work but were does the money come from. I have sleepless nights just thinking about money and how to support myself pay for my bills car finance etc. Were do I start. What if they believe I should be working my 37.5 hours a week how do you protest. Any help would be grate

        1. , I'm so sorry to hear you're going through all of this - as if dealing with the pain weren't enough, right? Have you spoken with your doctor about your work options (such as the Family Medical Leave Act)? Do you have disability insurance with your employer?
