Been on sulphasadine now for a month no difference..had steroid shot also.can we get our lives back eventually

Hello how long does it take for sulphasadine to workx

  1. Oh my heart goes out to you, . I can hear what a hard time it has been, and to still be waiting on relief. According to what I was able to find in my search online, sulfasalazine may take 1-3 months to start to take effect. While many people will notice a difference earlier than this, in some cases it can take as many as three months. (Unfortunately.) Please don't hesitate to reach out to your doctor if you are feeling that your currently treatment isn't working for you! There are so many treatment options available (here's a link to more information, https://psoriatic-arthritis.com/treatment), do not give up on finding the one that brings you the most relief. Is sulfasalazine the first treatment that you've been on to try to manage PsA symptoms? Sending you gentle hugs. -- Warmly, Christine (Team Member)

    1. I'm on methotrexate 2months and sulfasalazine 3 weeks, my doctor says 3 months for methotrexate to feel full affect,
To be fair my symptoms are getting better but still have good days and bad days. I don't know if a change in life style choices will help, I've quit smoking and currently reducing drink intake. See how it goes

      1. thanks so much for sharing your experience! I'm crossing my fingers that your symptoms continue to get better and you have more good than bad days. And kudos to you for making those lifestyle changes to hopefully help improve symptoms. Quitting smoking is no small feat (neither is reducing alcohol intake), so I hope that you're feeling good about the steps you're taking! If you're comfortable, please keep us posted with how you're doing. -- Warmly, Christine (Team Member)
