Hot or Cold for Joints?

With the summer on the way, many of us face an increase in warm (even hot) weather or spend our days inside with the air conditioning on full blast!

How do changes in temperatures affect your symptoms and joint pain? When the weather turns how do you manage your symptoms?

  1. Good question. For me its the damp or cooler weather that makes it worse. In the summer when its warm and dry it is at ist best. Just one damp/cool day I can feel the difference.

    1. Ohhhhh interesting, suffering! Have you been enjoying the summer then? Thanks for sharing! -Casey, Psoriatic-Arthritis.com Team

  2. Hi Casey
That's nice of you to ask. Actually I have disabling, severe OCD so I cant enjoy anything. Im pretty much housebound with no life. I can't keep replying like this, I was only meant to comment the odd time here or there. I dont have a pc at home due to EMF sensitivity so it means going to the library. Mum lets me know if I have any messages but I can't reply often

    Have a good summer.

    1. I completely understand, suffering! Thank you for replying, and we'll keep an eye out for your comments as they come in the future! I'm sorry to hear about your debilitating OCD, and want you to know that we're here for you whenever you need a friend! Happy summer to you too! -Casey, Psoriatic-Arthritis.com Team

  3. Heat and humidity (especially humidity) makes me swell up and my joints scream! Being a woman of a certain age too lol, it's absolutel hell. Heat definitely makes my joints and tendons swell

    1. Oh no, mrsnadal!! I'm so sorry to hear this! Please know you're so not alone in this experience. So many of our community members report struggling with the heat and humidity. Have you been able to find any ways to beat the heat during these summer months? -Casey, Psoriatic-Arthritis.com Team

  4. Fans everywhere around the house! Sitting in shade. Drinking iced drinks. I wish the UK had aircon in homes. Its hell.

    1. Love it! Great ways to beat the heat! I know much of Europe doesn't utilize AC, but I didn't realize the UK was in that majority! How awful!!!! Please keep us posted, and stay cool! Thinking of you! -Casey, Psoriatic-Arthritis.com Team
