How is psoriatic arthritis diagnosed?

  1. The diagnostic process can be tricky because the symptoms of PsA can look like other types of inflammatory arthritic conditions. Misdiagnosis is common. You may need to see a rheumatologist who will examine you for signs of psoriasis and swelling or inflammation around the joints. X-rays, blood tests, and joint fluid may also be tested.
