PSA WITH CRONIC FATIGUE

i am 46, and on methotrexate. though all my joints , fingers are ok after taking the med, but my whole body feels lethargic, fatigued and worn out. it improves only after taking NSAID but pain aches never subsides. being in business i had to miss many meetings, commitments and my favorite sports. being felt worn out and out of energy is the agonizing feeling and especially when you know its not going to subside. Really depressed. Dont know what to do!!!

  1. Hi , it's nice to see your name pop up here again, although I am sorry that you're still struggling with the fatigue. It's so awful, isn't it? I completely understand feeling depressed because of it. Many of us have been there at one point or another, and I think it's understandable, given how fatigue gets in the way of so many things.

Do you feel that the fatigue has got worse since starting methotrexate, or is this the same fatigue that you were dealing with before you started treatment? If it's worsened since starting methotrexate, you might want to discuss your folic acid dosage with your rheumatologist. If it's more that the methotrexate hasn't helped with the existing fatigue, you might want to have a different conversation with your rheumatologist about how much it is affecting your life. They may have some other treatment options that you could try. Either way, I really hope you can find something that helps and get some relief.
