PSA and my body

I just want to know if what I am feeling is my PSA, and I'm not going crazy. I do hurt all of the time but some days I can hardly move. The only way I can describe it is feeling like the flu has hit all of my joints. I do take Plaquenil everyday day and it does seem to help but I am so tired all of the time and a lot of times I feel like I could fall asleep at the drop of a hat. Is this normal for PSA. Help!

  1. Hi @Mammalo. Fatigue is a real thing while living with psoriatic arthritis. I can tell you for me I wake up exhausted and go to bed exhausted. Have you had a conversation with your doctor about it? Vickie W., Team Member

    1. I dont see my Dr again for another month, It would be so nice not to feel tired all of the time but I guess this is something I will have to live with. Thank you for hearing me.

      1. Hi . As Vickie noted, that sounds very much like PsA, but you might not have to live with it. Have you been on Plaquenil for more than a few months? If it is not effective for you, you might consider asking your doctor for something new. Doctors have no way of knowing which medications will help which PsA patients. It's really a game of trial and error. You might just have to keep trying different medications for a few months at a time until you find one that helps. My brother feels very much like you do now when he is unmedicated, but he feels relatively normal when he takes Enbrel combined with Methotrexate. But it took a lot of experimenting to find that successful combination. Here is a list of PsA medications that you might find helpful: https://psoriatic-arthritis.com/medications. You might also want to ask your primary care doctor to runs some tests for nutritional deficiencies and thyroid issues. Though the fatigue is probably due to PsA, thyroid problems or a lack of Vitamin D, B vitamins or iron might also be contributing. I hope you get some relief.
