Has anyone found that a low carb or otherwise exclusion based diet has helped your symptoms?
Even if excluding one food item which helped I'd love to hear anyone's experiences..
My pain management sessions are starting later this month and the pain management program doctor has suggested that carbs could be the source of all my inflammation and therefore all my pain. I've had P since age 11 and PsA since age 17 so half my life with arthritis now with no remission except medically induced- which I guess could suggest a regular irritant potentially? Since I saw her on Monday I have been attempting low carb and will give it a decent trial alongside my current 5.2 intermittent fasting med diet. I was really pretty down about the prospect of no naughty food but if it means less pain and less meds all the better and I will have to make do with smelling my chocolate scented lip balm for now at least. Surely there'll be more weight loss too which means less pressure on painful joints. This diet is no processed food, no pasta, rice, bread or potatoes. More fish, meat, veg - so long as its not from underground like carrots or swede and some limited fruits. Full fat yoghurt and my overnight oats with seeds, and cheese are allowed but no low fat food or sugary snacks. At least wine is allowed though!
She's also recommended a slice of cheese and glass of milk before bed to aid with sleep and I have found just days in that is helping already with improving my sleep
