Pain in chest. Inflamed Tendons??

I just started having problems with chest pain...it feels like my chest has gotten crushed by something...
Best way to explain it.
Its not a sharp pain it's a heaviness ..
As if like I said I have been crushed by something.
I read that people with psoriatic arthritis might get inflamed tendons and one area would be the chest.
Has anyone else experienced these symptoms?
I'm only 34 so it's not heart related and it is not the same symptoms.
Thanks in advance !!!
Kinda frustrating. Very sore in the morning...

  1. Ouch, -lorraine!! That sounds very unpleasant. Hoping things are feeling a little less sore for you today.

I haven't personally experienced this, but hopefully some of our community members will stop by to share with you. I know a lot of people in our community have had to deal with costochondritis: https://psoriatic-arthritis.com/answers/chest-pain-costochondritis-tietze-syndrome/

If you haven't done so already, we would encourage you to discuss your symptoms with a medical professional - it's always best to get chest pains checked out.

Keep us updated on how you're doing!

    1. Hi cathyd I will do that hope you are feeling well, oh and I will be posting my story soon it's a long one so I will come up a short version lol take care

    2. Yes, It was short lived and hope to never get if again. I never thought this PSA.

  2. A few months ago, I felt a heaviness like you describe. It wasn't constant but several times a day would occur. It was in mid-torso area toward my right and only felt in front. My rheumatologist suggested I see my PCP but shortly afterward, it just stopped. There was no rhyme or reason to it at all....and yes, very confusing.

Pls let us know how things go for you! I'm curious to know if it is related to tendon/ligament issues.

    1. Hi I recently had a symptom that involves the collar bone very sensitive to the touch ouch ! but when I went to my rheumy he touch it and I reacted promptly and he said what was that and sent me to x ray thankfully nothing broke just the tendons I guess it did go away after 4 days made it hard to sleep as you can imagine I am a side sleeper so yes I can relate sorry you have that kind of pain hope it gets better soon keep your chin up and have a good new year

      1. Hello. This is absolutely one of my symptoms - where the ribs connect to the sternum. It’s an awful feeling, for sure, so I can empathize with you. I have found that Voltaren can help take the edge off. Also, sometimes if I change my position so that I’m not stretching the tendons so much it helps a bit. Hope you feel better soon!
