The diagnostic process can be tricky because the symptoms of PsA can look like other types of inflammatory arthritic conditions. Misdiagnosis is common. You may need to see a rheumatologist who will examine you for signs of psoriasis and swelling or inflammation around the joints. X-rays, blood tests, and joint fluid may also be tested.
