What Is Frustrating About Life With Psoriatic Arthritis?

There are many reasons to be frustrated when living with PsA – doctors who won't listen, confusing insurance, trial and error in treatment, loved ones who don't try to understand, and more. Feel free to use this space to vent if you need to let your frustrations out.

  1. You're sooo right about loved one's not understanding. Even those that are genetically newly diagnosed. I always say.. Wait until you're...X amount of age. Where do you think you'll be with this disease? Puts it in perspective

    1. , that's a good way to try to get people to think about the long term with psoriatic arthritis! I think, unfortunately, a lot of us can relate to loved ones not understanding. I do wonder if true understanding is possible, without the person having been through it themselves. At this point, I don't expect anyone to understand, I just want people to believe and accept what I say! Please remember that this community is here anytime you want to connect with people who do really understand. Hugs! -Catherine, Community Moderator

  2. Never knowing how I will feel from day to day or even hour to hour.

    1. that is one of the biggest frustrations for me as well. It's hard to make plans not knowing how you are going to be feeling. I always just tell anyone that I will try my best. It gives an option if it is a bad day. Vickie W., Team Member

  3. spinal stenosis

    1. how long have you been living with spinal stenosis? With having psoriatic arthritis does it make it harder to treat the stenosis? Vickie W., Team Member

  4. I am frustrated by the fact that an appropriate medication to check or diminish my pain, stiffness and exhaustion has not been found. I am on the fourth type. My Doc started Simponi Aria. Next was remicade. Third tried was Cimzia Now cosentyx.

    1. oh my goodness, what a frustration! I can imagine how hard this is for you to go through. When did you start the Costenyx? Have you seen any improvement?
