Feet and Shoes

I was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis 15 years ago but my new doctor believes I really have Psoriatic Arthritis due to my feet involvement and tendonitis. I've been on Humira since 2007. My doctor said most people need to change from it after 5 years or so because it stops working. Maybe it's time to consider a new biologic.

I'm seeing a Podiatrist this week. I've wasted a lot of money experimenting with shoes. I hope they can help me fine tune what will help me.

Anyone have any suggestions on shoes? I've tried Birkenstocks, Kuru, and Kybun. Each helps but then causes pain in another spot.

  1. Hi . Many people do have to change their medications after a few years, especially if their symptoms worsen. There are plenty out there you can try. Has your doctor recommended any particular one? If you do change medications, I hope your symptom improve. Foot pain can be so debilitating. It's hard to say which shoes will work best for you because everyone seems to have different issues with their feet and slightly different foot structures to begin with. But one of our advocates put together this article with shoe recommendations for PsA that might help narrow it down for you: https://psoriatic-arthritis.com/living/shoes. You might find the comments helpful as well. Good luck with the podiatrist visit. I hope you get some relief. Keep us posted if you feel comfortable doing so. Warmly, Lori (Team Member)
