Cold knee therapy device

Hi,
I will be receiving knee joint replacement soon and I am looking for a used or inexpensive cold knee therapy device. I live in Vancouver BC Canada and am on a limited budget. Does anyone have any suggestions.

Thank you,
Denis HolmanSomething familiar to this.

  1. Hello, Denis ()! While I don't personally have experience finding used/inexpensive medical devices (like the cold therapy for the knee you mention), I hope that some of our community members here can chime in with their success. I do know that some people might try looking on a local Facebook group, whether it's a community group, buy/sell group, or something similar. You might have already done this because your surgery coming up, but I wonder if checking with insurance to see if something like this would be covered is an option for you. My other thought is a medical supply store to see if they sell any gentle used for a discounted price. Sorry I couldn't be more specifically helpful, but hopefully some of our community members can also share with you! I hope that you're surgery goes well, and, if you're comfortable, please keep us updated on how it goes. Wishing you a gentle day! -- Warmly, Christine (Team Member)

    1. Good luck for the upcoming surgery. Someone in my family used cold therapy replacement and while they did not use the image that you have shared, theirs was a fitted brace that got packed with fresh ice packs on the regular. She said that it really made a big difference with the healing process and pain management.

When are you scheduled to have the replacement?

      Warmly, Clair ( Team Member)

      1. I find out this coming Monday. I will let you know.

        1. , please do! I found the following article from Cynthia on purchasing mobility aids that I think might be useful: https://psoriatic-arthritis.com/living/tips-for-purchasing-mobility-aids-no-insurance I know you're not looking for a mobility aid, but the buying options that Cynthia mentions in that article may also be feasible/worth checking out for the cold therapy device. I also wonder whether the hospital or physio might have ones that they can loan out? Hoping you can find something suitable and at a good price. Please do keep us updated on everything. Wishing you the very best! Warmly, -Catherine, Community Moderator
