Over and Done: Suffering with Psoriatic Arthritis

I suffered for years... many doctors not up on their autoimmune diseases. I lost employment as a nurse of 30 years because I could not walk and the fatigue is devastating.

Struggling to find relief

I lost everything by the time I got diagnosed with PsA. At age 62, I started biological treatment and methotrexate, which I was on for 4 years. But no longer.. blood clots and now scarred lungs.. and NOW no pain relief as the world won’t prescribe opioid meds (NSAID allergy) out of fear.

The profession I served for so many years...fails me.

 My lower spine destroyed, not a disc in place with severe dextroscoliosis... I’ve been bent over for 7 years now, no surgery can be done... CDC info on opioid deaths retracted by them, yet every doctor in America cannot distinguish addict from true chronic pain sufferers. I am left with nothing , no one cares. Pain management a joke.. I’ve had PT and injections that never worked.. and one wanted to manipulate my back.. crazy! Can’t straighten spine

 Hi <inline-mention user-id="3303473" username="nancynurse"/> . Your pain sounds overwhelming. It must be frustrating and deflating to feel like the medical profession has turned its back on you after all of your years as a nurse. Have you gotten a few other opinions about the surgical options for your back? Is there a specialist in your area or someone who has done some groundbreaking back surgery? Please don't give up on getting some relief. As I am sure you know, doctors differ in their levels of expertise and in their willingness to take on tough cases. I wish you were still able to take PsA medications. You are not alone in that regard. We have a couple of advocates in this community who treat their PsA naturally for similar reasons.
