Living One Day at a Time

I have been living with psoriatic arthritis for several years. It's becoming worse as I age. I was diagnosed right away after having trouble walking as my feet were affected. I went on a medication that helped me for years but stopped about two years ago bringing the pain to my feet, knees, lower back, and hands.

Assistive devices for walking

I do feel weary a lot of the time and I pace myself accordingly. When I wake up in the morning it is brutal getting started, but as the day commences and I keep moving it becomes more manageable. Sometimes I feel unsteady on my feet so I do use a walker when necessary. I cannot walk any distance without a cane or walker so I do what is necessary for me to keep going.

Staying positive to cope with PsA pain

I am retired so I can relax when I have to and I do most things in moderation. For the most part, I do have a positive attitude and try to stay upbeat. I feel like I've learned to live with the pain and try not to complain about it to others. I ask for help and I use common sense when it comes to taking on projects. I'm on a new medication and it should soon determine if it is going to help me or not. I live one day at a time and try to stay in the moment.
