Weird sensations in my hands

First off, I have PsA, seronegative RA, Fibromyalgia, peripheral neuropathy in both feet, and hypothyroidism.

For the last 4 or 5 months or so, my hands have been going numb in spots, and always tingling like your hands are asleep. My left is way worse as the tingling feeling starts near my elbow and gets worse as it moves into my hand.

Just recently 4 or 5 weeks, almost every time I use my left hand I get this snapping feeling, in different areas. It feels like a big rubber band or better yet like getting a deep shock, like an electric shock. It hurts like crazy. It does it multiple times. I figure it's got to be a tendon or ligament moving around, I just have no idea. I've had my massage therapist and my chiropractor work on my neck, arm, and hand, but it doesn't help.

Is there anyone that experiences the same thing??? What have you done to help this feeling?? I'm up to suggestions!

  1. Hi @dolphinmimi, thanks for reaching out. This sounds like it is really uncomfortable for you. We have definitely heard from community members about numbness and tingling in their hands. While I do hope you hear from someone who is experiencing this snapping feeling, I would definitely suggest seeing your doctor about it. Perhaps even physical therapy would help? I really hope you can get some relief soon. Jill, Team Member

    1. I have a lot of numbness in my limbs hands and also thighs and feet. My hands are associated with facet and foramen arthritis which is impinging on C5 and C6 nerves.

      1. Hi . Have you ever seen a neurologist? Numbness, tingling and that electrical shock feeling usually indicate nerve involvement. A neurologist might be able to offer some better treatment for you. Thinking of you and wishing you the best. - Lori (Team Member)

        1. I had a repetitive stress injury that felt like that (carpal tunnel) but no snapping. I hope you feel better soon.
