Taltz side effects

I just started Taltz 2 weeks ago. I had to take 2 injections to begin. I immediately had a strange taste in my mouth. Then got really tired. Fell asleep and slept for several hours. Had vivid dreams. Woke up feeling exhausted.
I took my third injection this morning . It's been 2 weeks since my first 2 injections. Once again I had a strange taste in my mouth. And fell asleep. Had very vivid dreams and woke up 3 hours later exhausted. Has anyone else experienced this? Does it go away eventually? The psoriasis is clearing up really well so far. But the pain seems to be getting worse in my fingers and back.

  1. Welcome to the community . We are glad you are here. The taltz effects sounds troubling. You should reach out to your doctor and let them know what you are experiencing. I'm sure our great community will provide some feedback as well. Vickie W., Team Member

    1. I don't recall any strange tastes, or vivid dreams when I was on Taltz, but injections sure hurt like hell. With all but my current biologic (Skyrizi), I would experience tiredness and fatigue, some general malaise, for a few days after the injection, something I used to call "Humira Hangover" (then Enbrel, Taltz, etc.). My supposition, based on the fact that these biologics lost efficacy rather quickly, is that the fatigue, and other strange side effects, was my body ramping up to develop antibodies to the biologics. Since being on Skyrizi, I've not had this happen, but I'm also fairly certain that my system is now accustomed to these new monoclonal antibodies, and isn't acting as aggressively toward them. Yet.

      1. Thank you Eric for your input. I really appreciate it.

        1. And Taltz isn't the only IL-17 inhibitor out there. If you continue to have unsettling side effects, you can request a different one, Cosentyx for example. It doesn't hurt like the Taltz injection either.
