symptoms of PsA

One woman posted that she experienced itching that kept her awake. I too have itching. In my hands (along with swelliing, stiffness and pain). This has been going on for about a year. A few days ago I awoke with horrible itching in my feet and ankles. It wasn't a rash. More like an under the ski itch that cannot be scratched! I took an allergy pill an it subsided some. Is this part of the PsA experience?

  1. Thanks so much for reaching out, . While itching isn't typically a symptom of PsA itself (here's some information on the typical symptoms of PsA, https://psoriatic-arthritis.com/psa-symptoms), there can be many reasons to experience itching, like medication side effect, some type of psoriasis, or even something else unrelated to psoriasis or PsA. We are not doctors, so I can't say for sure what was causing your specific itching. I'm glad it subsided some with the allergy medication, but it sounds like it was a really overwhelming and frustrating sensation. Have you been able to speak with your doctor about it at all? Although I'm not sure if you also experience psoriasis, I'm sharing a link here with a little more information about psoriasis and itching, if you're interested, https://plaquepsoriasis.com/symptoms-affect-body/itching-burning. I do hope that you can get some answers and some relief! Please, if you're comfortable, keep us posted. Wishing you a gentle day! -- Warmly, Christine (Team Member)
