Painful psoriasis

I've had psoriasis from my scalp to my legs since I was a child and was diagnosed with Psoriatic Arthritis five years ago (although I've had symptoms for twenty years).

My psoriasis has been irratating and annoying, but recently painful.

I have spots on my back that started as two and has grown to six and recently causing pain. I can't sleep on my side and moving my arm and shoulder causes pain also. Applying medicine or lotion hurts as well. it's weird.

I called my rheumatologist yesterday and they are going to work me in. My scheduled appointment isn't until July.

Have you had this? Could it be pustular psoriasis?

  1. @ddavis sorry to hear that you have new areas that are causing you pain. We are not allowed to give a diagnosis. That is something your doctor needs to do. I am glad you have been pro-active and called them. Since your question is more of a psoriasis question than a psoriatic arthritis question you can go to our sister site at www.plaquepsoriasis.com and ask the question there. I am sure our great community there will have some feedback for you. Vickie W., Team Member
