Insured and disability

Has anyone experienced having to quit working due to the condition and there working experience where all there employment experience was work they could no longer do so you applied for disability and were approved? If not what kind of employment are people being able to hold with this disease?

  1. I am in the UK. I have struggled to keep working for the past 5-6years and have now got to a point where I cannot work at all. I am on zero pay and have applied to get my pension esrly(54) and in the interim have claimed government disability.

    1. I'm not sure if it is very difficult to get disability in the UK however it is very difficult to get your disability here in the state of Texas until I receive an actual diagnosis which I have now learned is very hard and takes a long time I can't even apply I have been battling rheumatologist and dermatologist to get a diagnosis I'm going on Monday to see my second rheumatologist which is what I was recommended to do and hopefully I get somewhere there it is very frustrating plaque psoriasis on the skin runs in my family one of my uncles has psoriatic arthritis and I do know it's in your jeans but still I'm having a very difficult time I am already to the point where I cannot hold a job thankfully I have kids who have my grandkids and I am being paid to take care of one of my grandkids otherwise I would have receive no income I do appreciate your comment and does give me a little bit of hope that at least there's somebody out there that has been able to receive that with a diagnosis of psoriatic arthritis thank you so much

    2. Hi it is a shame but we have many hurdles here are well. I now have a psoriasis diagnosis but have had problems for 5 years. I have loads of X-rays, ct scans and mris. The main reason I have succeeded is the scale of problems. I have had both hips resolved and on waiting list for both shoulders, knees on way out but the think that stops me working is the spine as this has deteriorated at all levels.
