Hello!

I'm relatively new to this site. I've been subscribing to the emails and reading the articles but haven't posted anything until now.

I was diagnosed in the Fall of 2016. I had been having issues with swollen fingers and locking joints for about a year prior to diagnosis.

Diagnosis came literally days before I moved across the state and started a new job. The rheumatologist that diagnosed me planned to put me on methotrexate. He decided not to when I explained I was moving. He suggested I get established in my new city and go from there.

My "new" rheumatologist is part of a huge practice and very nice but has refrained from putting me on any kind of long term treatment plan. Sounds like I have been pretty lucky with experiencing mostly swelling and locking joints.

I've started to have painful flares so I'm making an appointment to insist on some kind of treatment plan. (I don't take OTC NSAIDs - but use diclofenac gel which doesn't help with moderate pain).

I'm glad I have found this group! I can see what others have experienced and be able to make better informed decisions.

Thank you to everyone who has posted.
